He attended private schools and was fortunate enough to be granted a scholarship to one of the city’s top High Schools, Christian Brothers College Proprietary High School, where he was near the top of his class.
Adolescent Years
Following his freshman year in High School, his family moved to Oak Park on the West-Side of Chicago, IL where he attended Oak Park River Forest High School and excelled both on the field and in the classroom. While attending school full-time, Cyprian was fortunate enough to have a great part-time job working as a Valet at the Oak Park Country Club, where he easily worked 30-40 hours in addition to school and sports. He quickly learned to balance work and school and from that point on his ambition was endless and he strived to work harder than anyone else around him.
After taking an AP Economics class, Cyprian was compelled by finance and pursued a degree in Economics at the University of Valparaiso, which was only 50 Miles east of Chicago and allowed for him to continue to work. While attending school and working long hours at the Country Club, Cyprian began reading the Wall Street Journal to occupy his down time. Soon he became fascinated with it and decided to pursue a dream of trading.
Early Career
After 2 years at Valparaiso University, Cyprian took a break and packed his bags from school, came home, and headed downtown to work in the Chicago Financial District as a Trader. After a few not so successful months he continued to pursue his dream of trading by expanding into the Commodity market and earning a seat as the youngest trader on the floor at the prestigious Chicago firm GHCO.
Following his attempt at trading Cyprian decided to attempt the Broker side of the business and took a position as a Bond Broker with McLaughlin, Piven, Vogel Securities. After 6 months Cyprian went back to school and continued his education in Finance at DePaul University in downtown Chicago. He was the 4th employee hired and a large part of the initial success of the company. Initially his duties were primarily support and administrative. But due to the small structure of the company he was able to take part in all aspects of the business. During this time he worked closely with the head web designer Mark Rodriguez, who taught him everything he knows about designing. Together with Mark, they were able to create over 10 fully functional websites that helped the company generate over 20,000live trading accounts, and over $500,000 + in revenues over a 2 year span.
